Alison Comyn
Fianna Fáil candidate for Louth
Born and raised in Drogheda, Co Louth, mother of two Alison Comyn is an IFTA-winning journalist, news anchor and broadcaster. Throughout her three-decade career, Alison has worked for the Drogheda Independent, Mid Louth Independent, Dundalk Argus, BBC, Sky News, Channel 4, RTÉ and UTV Ireland. She was also a communications consultant with international expertise, training groups and individuals from a range of organisations. An experienced MC and moderator, she has chaired the World Employment Conference, National Recruitment Federation conference and Davy Stockbrokers Conference to name a few. With links to all community groups in her native county, Alison is passionate about Drogheda reaching its full potential and feels she can make even more of a difference in the Dáil than from her keyboard. Alison’s parents Pat and Phyllis Comyn were respected members of the local community; her paternal grandparents were piano teacher Daisy and gold Scott Medal winner Det Garda Mick Comyn; her maternal parents undertaker Frank F. Watson and his wife Margaret, whose own father had been Harbour Master. Alison is dedicated to helping the region thrive, promoting its potential, and working tirelessly to ensure it remains a great place to live for generations to come.
