Conor Burke is an artist, gallery technician, and carpenter from Galway and an activist with the Socialist Party and Peopel Before Profit - Solidarity for many years in many community campaigns, including defeating the water charges, repealing the eighth amendment. Conor has stood on picket lines, including nurses, retail workers, and public transport workers. Conor strongly opposes the genocide being carried out by Isreal in Gaza and if elected will strive to use his platform to fight this at every level. Conor believes the ‘’for profit’’ capitalist housing model being put forward by the main government and opposition parties will not address the key causes of this problem. We need a state house building programme to cut across the profit of private property, developers, landlords, and vulture funds and provide affordable homes for all to buy or rent.
