Darren O’Rourke is TD for Meath East since 2020. He previously served as a County Councillor on Meath County Council from 2014 to 2020. He is Sinn Féin’s spokesperson on Climate Action and the Environment and is a member of the Oireachtas Committees on Climate, Environment, Transport and Communications. Since being elected to the Dáil, Darren has worked tirelessly for the people of Meath and fights for investment in housing, jobs, public services and community infrastructure in the county. Previously, Darren worked as a Medical Scientist in the Irish health service and as a Policy Advisor in the Dáil and European Parliament. He holds masters degrees from Trinity College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Darren is married to Maria. They have 3 young children.
