Michael Cahill
Fianna Fáil candidate for Kerry
I am a proud Kerry native from Rossbeigh, right in the heart of the Ring of Kerry. For almost 35 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving the people of Kerry-on-Kerry County Council, a role I inherited from my father, Tom Cahill, who began this legacy in 1960. With my wife Brenda and our four grown children by my side, I’ve committed my life to improving the well-being of our community. I’m not just a politician—I’m someone who thrives on engaging with people of all ages, from every corner of our county. Whether it’s discussing the future with young students, listening to concerns from farmers and fishers, or catching up with neighbours in local towns, I’m here to connect, to listen, and to act. My work on the Council has been dedicated to the issues that matter most to you. I’ve fought tirelessly to improve our health services, I know how important it is for families to have access to student SUSI grants and appeals, for farmers and fishers to receive the backing they need, to support our many small businesses and for every community to have reliable public transport, safe roads, and affordable and social housing. I also understand how vital it is for young people to be able to live and build their lives here, which is why I advocate for fair planning permission for our sons and daughters, so they too can call Kerry home. As your Fianna Fáil candidate in the upcoming General Election, I’m ready to bring this same passion and work ethic to Dáil Éireann.
