Pádraig Mac Lochlainn has proudly and passionately represented the people of Donegal for many years, locally and nationally. He lives in Buncrana with his wife Sinéad and he has two adult sons. Pádraig is the Sinn Féin Chief Whip and Spokesperson on Fisheries and the Marine. Prior to being elected to the Dáil in February 2011, he had served for many years on Donegal County Council and Buncrana Town Council. He twice served as Mayor of Buncrana in 2005/2006 and 2010/2011 and has served once as Deputy Mayor of Donegal 2010/2011. He was a community activist and campaigner, locally and nationally before entering elected politics.
